Day 76- Additional Information

Just returned home from a visit with Bella so wanted to fill everyone in on where we are since my last post this morning. When I arrived at 8:15 am, Uncle Patrick (our wonderful friend and RT) was lovingly doing her breathing treatment. She was on 100% oxygen and sats were in 50s and 60s at first. In the next couple of hours she went to 40% pressure, 70% oxygen and sats are in the 90's. She is resting well and much appreciative of the assistance breathing. Her color looked great! We have seen her every shade of blue and purple this week so a nice healthy pink is refreshing.

From what I understand (which isn't always alot ;)) we start weaning her down again until they think she is ready to try again. It could be a day or it could be a week. As one of my fellow wise preemie moms reminded me once before, it is a marathon. We hope to go the distance here so we just have to be patient, not get caught up in immediate gratification and trust in God's strength, not our own, as we wait for His healing and direction.

The Dr heard a heart murmur this morning so she has an EKG ordered for today or tomorrow just to follow up. She has had this murmur come and go so will be happy to get that test done and hopefully see what is going on.

Bella is weighing in at 2.5 pounds now!!! She is pretty much a force to be reckoned with and will do things her way and on her time :) Thank you for your continued prayers for Bella and all of the families & babies in NICU.

Much love to all
Telisha

  1. She is a force to be reckoned with! As hard as it is to see them struggle, it's amazing to see these little fighters do their thing. She is incredible!

  2. Prayers your way Telisha and Chris for little Bella. She will come thru this stronger than ever. The lungs develope in stages ( just like in Utero)and hers just needed a little rest for now and a little help.It is not uncommon for them to get tired and need a little help. A friend of mine had a little girl the same thing happened to. She had to go on the vent several times before her lungs had developed enough to not need it anymore. She went home with O2 and monitors as well. This day that little girl is a healthy wife and mother to a 1 year son! No disabilities either other than a mild case of seasonal allergies. God is holding her right now and everyday and healing her in his own time. I feel he has a beautiful path laid out for her and for Dylan as well as you and Chris. Granted that path may have a stone along the way as all paths do but they also have the Lord guiding the followers to the Sunshine and Rainbows yet to come. May the angels continue to sit with Bella and flutter their wings ever so softly giving her the soft gentle breezes into her lungs and heal them . may they sing into her tiny ears the sweetest of lullabys as she rests and becomes stronger and stronger till the day comes when she comes home and is lavished with tons of love and lots of hugs. Our prayers continue day and night for Bella and her beautiful family of christian soilders as they march this path and win this battle one day at a time. We love all of you . God bless the little children and God bless Telisha, Chris, Dylan and all whom God allows to have a hand in the care of HIS angel Bella.
