Day 211

We couldn't be more excited to report a great weekend of recovery for Bella. There was some concern on Friday because her heart rate was running low. However after a few tests we found that her heart actually looks better than the last time we looked at it & her hypertension is showing signs of improvement. We believe (although many argued with us) that her sedation was a bit heavier than she needed but we got past it. We are so incredibly grateful to our primary nurses whom have pulled together to form Team Bella, insuring that she is getting great care to see her thru this recovery. They are amazing advocates for her & we really trust their expertise.
They are starting to cut back on some sedations & she actually woke up some this evening. Bless her heart she looked very confused but is handling it well so far. She remains on the same vent settings that she went into the surgery with which is amazing & we pray they keep improving from here.
She will remain on heavy sedation until Tuesday when we do her first trach change & can rest comfortably after that. We will start learning how to care for it soon after & are excited to get comfortable with all of her needs. This surgery & recovery were like those in the past where we truly felt every single prayer. Again we were impressed with all of the concern, support & thoughts sent our way from all of you...
I look forward to having time (don't know when that may be) to really sit down and blog again. Parenting two kids in two different locations has proven to be a challenge but Chris & I are doing the best we can to keep up! We have found that even though our world may be put on hold the rest of the world keeps going around us.But God has proven that He will never gives us anymore than we can handle as proven this weekend! So we continue our journey with a heart full of gratitude & a life filled with God's grace...Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful snow & holiday cheer!

Much love to all
Telisha

  1. Sitting here this morning @ 4am praying and thinking about Bella. God comes to me to give comfort that she is going to be fine. She will be a strong little girl and will prove to the world that miracles do indeed exist. If anyone ever has any doubts look at this little angel he has sent to witness his Powers of love, comfort, faith, and the ability to allow us mere humans to watch and read each day of another miracle unfolding before us. She is the sunshine on a cloudy day, the rainbow after the storms, the love and strength when we feel weak , She is Bella the angel God has sent to her family, friends and all who come to know her and love her. I thank you Dear All powerful father for sending her. I pray the day will soon come when I too can hold this sweet sweet angel in my arms. She has become like a grand daughter to me. I have seen her from a tiny one pound little fighter up to this day so far. I have witness the strength of you father through her the past 7 months. I praise you father for allowing myself and many other to also witness this. I have seen the extremely strong faith grow in her family. This again proves it is truely you father working through Bella all along. I give you Praise for the pathway you have chosen for it has also lead Bella's family closer to you and closer to heaven. I will continue to pray daily father for this family and all the family in all the NICU across this great country for you to give them the strength they need and guide them to you through all those miracles that live within those walls. God you and only you have blessed this family . They love you entirely now . Your will has been done. Thank you father. Now I pray that as Bella becomes stronger each day that you completely fulfill her life and her family's life with strength , faith, compassion, comfort, love and the ability to keep handing it to you . May Bella's life be filled with hope, love, faith , sunshine, rainbows, laughter and many years of the greatest of happiness as she spreads your words of wisdom as your solider for Christ and life eternal and everlasting . AMEN. Much love to all. God Bless Bella and her family and God bless the little children every where the world over....
